Caravan Phone Counselling Service
Open Hours – Monday to Sunday
10am to 7pm
0207 183 1802
You are very welcome to call and if the therapist is busy, they will call you back or pass your details to the next therapist for a call back.
We offer a core service of listening and emotional support, which by arrangement can evolve into counselling.
Counselling is offered by volunteers undergoing professionally accredited training.
For both the face-to-face and our phone service, we work in the same way. You can’t book a slot, you can only drop in or call and ask to be seen by the therapist on duty. Sometimes you may need to call or visit again or wait for a call back if the service is busy.
You can call and speak to a few different therapists over a few weeks until you find the therapist you feel is right for you. The way to be seen regularly is, when you talk with a counsellor, you can then ask them if they would be able to see you the following week. If they have availability, then they will book you in, otherwise they may suggest another slot for you to try.
Each therapist has to keep at least one slot free for drop-in in their three hour shift however, so usually most people do get to speak to someone, even if you may need to wait a while.
The Caravan Drop-In and Counselling Service is provided by the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education – Registered Charitable Trust No. 1056420 with support and facilities provided by St James’s Church.
The service is free, but we do accept donations.
